I got a new camera so I was testing it out this morning. I didn't have any special event going on so I just took a few snapshots of our everyday life. Then I got to thinking, everyday is special!Things that happen everyday is what I want to remember about life anyway. I want to remember what life was like when my kiddos were little, how "young" we all looked, and all the different hairstyles!

1. What was I doing 10 years ago? I was dating Matt, he left for New Zealand and Australia for almost a year, and I was finishing up my teaching degree and student teaching.
2. 5 things on my to do list? 5 things! Try a million! But I'll go with the top 5. Plant a yard, plant flowers, paint our house, put in 12-14 corrals, Mylie's scrapbook from when she was a baby, and print our Argentina pictures and put them in an album.
3. Snacks I enjoy? ICE CREAM, cookies, and chips
4. If I were a Billionaire what would I do? I would give enough money to my parents and Matt's parents that they could retire and do whatever they wanted to do for the rest of their lives, buy Matt a nice INDOOR riding facility, set my girls up for college, give mine and Matt's family and some friends some money just to blow however they wanted, hire a maid and a cook to do my job, give to my church and to other charities, and invest! I can't even fathom a BILLION dollars. I wasn't even close to spending it all was I?
5. 3 Bad Habits? Doing too much and getting overwhelmed, procrastinating on laundry, and staying up too late.
6. Places I've lived? Adrian, LaGrande, Boise.
7. 5 jobs I've had? Working on the farm, Paul's grocery store, Western Labs, U of I Extension Office (worked for an etymologist), teacher!
8. 3 things people don't know about me? I was a "witness" and got to be on Judge Judy--for a couple of seconds!, I took guitar lessons last spring, I like to read (when I get time to read)

Mylie is 2!

Our sweet little baby is now a big kid! I'm just amazed at how quickly she grew up. Her and Mesa are two peas in a pod so it doesn't help that Mylie tries to act 4. She is quite funny with all of her funny DRAMATIC looks she gives us. Just lately she is very into being a "copy cat." It really annoys Mesa, I'm sure that is why she is doing it. Isn't that the fun of being a copycat? Mesa is slowly figuring out what to say if Mylie is copying her. For example, Mesa will say, "Mesa is the best big sister ever." And Mylie has to say it. It really is quite funny but after a few minutes it fades away. I'm sure due to the attention span of a 2 year old. She is starting to really get into dress up and thinks she is soooo beautiful. She likes the princess cheerleader outfit but my personal favorite outfit is her monkey or Nemo PJ top, diaper, and BOOTS (Snowboots or cowboy boots--they are usually two different colors and both the left foot or both the right foot!) And this is a DAILY outfit. She is our little sweetheart and is pretty tender hearted and we love her SO much.

She partied for 3 days straight on her birthday weekend! On Friday we had a Strawberry Shortcake party with a couple of her little friends. Then on her REAL birthday, Saturday, her and Mesa had their own party. I told them Mylie could open the presents that were sitting around on her real birthday. Well, I walked in from being out in the yard in the morning and they had opened the presents. When I asked why they didn't wait for me, Mesa said, "Well, you said she could open them on her real birthday." Why, yes I did, I guess! Then on Sunday~Mother's Day~ we had a family party and went to the zoo and had cake and presents in the park. The kids enjoyed that. That night when the girls were laying in bed, Mylie sat up really quick and said, "I AD FUN!" I replied with, "What?" And she said, "SUE (zoo), the MONKEYS and BEAR. FUN!" So evidently Mylie had a fun time, too!

Graduation Day!

Mesa went to her last pre-school day on Monday the 5th. She officially GRADUATED from pre-school. She looks thrilled doesn't she? She told me she is already getting nervous for Kindergarten (she gets her stress from me). On her last day of pre-school the class sang a bunch of their favorite songs. Mesa of course never sang. She did not sing once during the programs the whole two years of pre-school, we knew this day would not be any different. Krissy told me that during practice she sang the loudest out of her whole class! Ha! Matt, Grandad, Gram, Nana, and Papa all came to watch her last little pre-school concert. It was cute that Mesa invited them all personally and it was very special that they all took time out of their day to come and support this little moment in life. After it was over, we all went to eat lunch at the little market in town. I had to leave early from lunch to go to work but what a special day!

May Day

I came home from school on May 1st and my mom and daughters surprised me with May Day flowers. I have the best mom. She does the neatest things with my kids while I'm at work. They love her to pieces and so do I. The flowers really brightened my day, especially since we do not have any at our new house. The girls also made a little basket for their Nana (great-grandma). So we all went down to her house. We let the girls put them on the porch, ring the doorbell, then hide. They giggled a lot when Nan couldn't see who had rang the door bell. Now, the last two days Mesa has been ringing MY doorbell and running. I wonder when that will get old? Mylie would probably do it, too, but luckily she can't reach the door bell!
