Mesa lost her first tooth!!! It has been wiggly for a LONG time. At lunch time we were watching it practically hanging there. So Matt grabbed a piece of string and wrapped it around the little tooth. We had been down this road before a couple of times but it never would come out! But this time... SNAP! A couple of tears and then a moment of pride. Later that afternoon we found a pouch and put a poem in it for the tooth fairy. Mesa also colored her two pictures. The next morning, she had a 2 dollar bill, 2 quarters, and a letter in her pouch from the tooth fairy.

An Outdoor Treasure Hunt
The other day, after a couple hours at the pool, we went with Erin, Jillian, Lizzy, and Jen to letterbox around town. Letterboxing is basically an outdoor treasure hunt combined with clues and rubber stamps. We hit 5 different sites. It was the perfect activity for the range of ages we had. It was such a blast!
Pioneer murals.
A pioneer grave site.
The downside of letterboxing with a three year old: ink is too much fun for just paper.

She's growing up...
Mesa has been wanting her ears pierced for about a year now. While shopping today, Jaci, Mesa, and I got a little bored so we walked into a jewelry store while we were waiting for my mom, Grandma, and A. Peggy. There was no better time like the present to pierce Mesa's ears, so she hopped in the chair. They marked her ears and POW! POW! She shed a couple of tears but no sobs. What a brave kid! She knew it was going to hurt but was so ready. We all watched and were proud of her, except for Grandma Betty, who left the store because she didn't want to see Mesa in any pain! :) The best was when Mylie said, "Oh, Mesa, you're beautiful!" We have one proud six year old who has been waiting for this day! (I've even caught her pinching her ears for practice a few times in the past!)

Pepsi's Treats
The other day we made Pepsi the Pony horse treats. He absolutely LOVED them. The dogs, Mylie, Tyrell, and I also tried the "all-natural" cookies. Not too bad. We could only get Pepsi and Rapid Jack to eat them. All the rest of our horses thought we were crazy!
Recipe:
1cup flour
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1cup sugar
1/2 cup oats
grated carrots
Preheat oven for 350 degrees F. Stir. Cook for 10-15 min.
***No Matt, Pepsi is not eating out of Mesa's hand. You must be seeing things.***

Snapshots of fun....
She told me she was going to go swimming. Umm....I don't think it happened. Inside the pool was just about as bad as she was. But she had fun! I, however, did not have fun cleaning the pool out.

A Day in the Life of...
Ahhh.....a day in the life of a three year old. I think Mylie is a very funny kid. She just kinda mills around and doesn't have too many responsibilities at this point in the game. Although we are trying to teacher her how to be responsible, Mesa, Matt, and I just kinda do things for her. Therefore, she has a lot of spare time on her hands. A couple of weeks ago, I was just watching her go through out her day. I decided to grab the camera and start snapping pictures of what she really does during her day. I thought it would be cute to reflect back on it someday---you know, when she doesn't have much time anymore because she's being "responsible" and helping with chores. ha! Here is just a sample of a day in the life of Mylie.....
"eating" her lunch playing dress up
hang' with Tyrell (she loves him!)
outfit changes all day long (love the stripes & plaid)
food of choice (her and Mesa had this for breakfast once)
telling me she's not dirty and doesn't need a bath
reading to Ginger in the garage (the dog has a pillow and blanket)
I find THIS throughout the day. It's from all of the clothes changes!
and collecting round rocks---she tells us they have to be like "O's." It's a unique obsession. If I had a dollar for every round rock she has collected, I could retire at a young age!

What a kid! We love her.
