Here are the results....because it's killing Kerry not to know. :)
I got each item for 1 penny each! Add it all together and it is 63 cents!
In July, Staples had some items for 1 penny each. Teachers can get around 25 for their limit so I would go through, send Mesa through the line, then Mylie! Matt went once also. In fact, while walking to the store, Mesa picked up a penny in the parking lot and said, "Hmm. I can't buy anything with a penny." Laughingly, I replied, "Oh, my dear...let me show you."
So the winner would be Robin because she was the closest to the actual cost. And Kerry you can win too because you guessed first! Thanks for playing!

Fishing
My mom, the girls, and I made quick trip up to visit Grandma Betty and Grandpa Merrill before school started. We packed a lot into a little bit of time... croquet, letter boxing, miniature golf, fishing, and riding in the Model A. Here is a video of Mesa catching her second fish of the day. She caught two before Grandpa got his hook on his pole!

Just for James and Kerry :)
This post is for James and Kerry, but I put it on here to show you all. Last March Kerry and James helped us build our round pen. Something was mentioned about our lawn (I don't remember exactly what) and James couldn't picture this place without complete dirt. :) Also last year, Denny and Steve helped build a tack shed. (I believe then it was complete dirt as well.) My parents helped plant the lawn from seed & plant some trees. They also helped with the sprinkler system. Others helped put in the corrals and arena. This year we've planted more trees, flowers, bushes, and are thankful we've got grass growing on our alkali patch! (We have an excellent supply of horse manure!) We are so thankful for our helpful friends! It is not a dream yard yet, but we are getting there, but it has been cheap. For example, I paid $5 for my trees! Gotta love clearance items! Next year the lawn probably won't be so patchy, we will have a bigger garden, the girl's play area will have more gravel, and maybe our trees will grow. But that's for a post in 12 months from now. :) Oh can I be that patient!?
It went from THIS-----

Pepsi the Pony
The girls love their pony! Mesa is training him, with the help of dad, to become a better pony. His most recent accomplishment has been neck reining. He's finally getting the hang of it! He's also getting a nice stop on him and starting to spin. (Why a pony would need to spin is beyond me, but he's learning it.)
