Just to catch you up....

Just thought I'd catch everyone up on what we've been doing the last couple of weeks. First for some great news... Mylie is completely potty trained! YEA. Thanks to my Mom~you did a lot of the hard work. Last Monday I looked Mylie straight in the eye and said, "Listen--You won't be wearing diapers anymore because you are not a baby." (My mom put her in undies but I was always more hesitant except when we were going to be home all day.) Mylie said in a very determinted voice, "Okay!" And that was that. Maybe 4 accidents total for the last 7 days. YEA, MYLIE!!

Mesa has really taken off with reading this week, too. She is getting really confident. Along with sounding out the words she is also starting to sight read more and more. She's doing great!

Matt has been accepted to do the Northwest Mustang Challenge in Albany, OR in March. We will go to pick the horse up on December 5th. It will only be a couple of hours a way. Get ready to watch for his blog!

I have accepted a state writing position with the ESD. It will be under 10 days a year and it is excellent pay. Probably hard work and time a way from my kids which makes me sad. Also, I will be working right during the Mustang Challenge so I won't get to help Matt out this time or even watch him compete. That also makes me disappointed.

We got to see a lot of Matt's family this past week. Matt's grandpa Evan was honored by the Nevada Cattlemen's Association for putting in over 100,000 miles on horseback. Pretty amazing! It was nice to see all his grandparents, his aunts and uncles, most of his cousins, and his brothers' families: Denny, Mary, Leslie, Steve, Austin, and Molly. Evan was suprised at his award. Rachel had a really nice write up about him and Tillie did a lot of work, too. And thanks to Amanda for getting us all there. I'm sure so many other people helped, also. And congratulations to Grandpa Evan for so many miles in the saddle! Pretty amazing.
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving this year. We will be staying home and everyone on my mom's side will be traveling this way. We have an exciting week planned and can't wait to see everyone!
