Friday Fave Five---Feb. 27th

My pastor's wife, Robin puts this up on her blog and it's so nice to see what she writes. I figured I really need to start being verbally positive and thankful for the things in my life. So I'm posting my five favorite things that happened this week. I'm hoping I'll get to it every Friday. You can post your own as well, go to Susanne's blog and follow along. http://susannesspace.blogspot.com/

1. Being blessed with girls! I love being a mom to GIRLS! The many princess dresses, the play make-up, the jewelry, the dancing to Hannah Montana songs. These are all apart of our everyday life. This morning when we played "Pet shop" with all the stuffed animals, the girls called it the Royal Ball Pet Shop and of course had their princess dresses on!

2. Celebrating Grandparents. Tuesday we celebrated my grandfather's 79th birthday! We had a great time just being together. I'm so glad my girls know 6 of their great-grandparents and see them often. We also celebrated that my grandma's biopsy came back with the great news of "Negative!" An answered prayer!

3.
Friends! Okay so this is really three rolled into one...Having friends just to help lift up my spirit is a favorite thing. Jen and Bret live right across the drive way and this week we enjoyed brownie sundaes and great conversation ON A SCHOOL NIGHT at that! I love that we can just call each other up and randomly say hey-wanna get together tonight? We are so thankful for them and thankful Jen is an excellent cook! HA! A phone call from Kerry last night to ask me a quick question, but a very needed call to catch up. I was thinking of her 10 minutes before she called. And Anita e-mailed me back, just nice to hear from her.

4. Our basketball teams. I'm so glad Matt is done with middle school basketball practice in the early mornings and he is home now morning and night. We liked watching the games but it's nice to have him around again. Another favorite thing about basketball is I got watch our high school girls win their first game of the state playoffs. They got to have a home game for their first state playoff game. And won by 30 points! Yea! They play 6 hours away this weekend for their next game---don't think I'll be making that one! Our boys did well this year too, but lost their first game in the state playoff's by 2 points. I shared in their disappointment this week as the kids in my high school classes told me the story of their discouraging loss. Felt so bad for them.

5. Rainbows. Yes, a rainbow in FEBRUARY! Yesterday morning the dark storm clouds were rolling in over the hills. Right before the storm hit our house a giant full rainbow appeared in front of the storm. And as the storm came closer and hard rain and eventually hail hit down, the rainbow actually got closer to our house. It's the closest I've ever seen a rainbow. One end of it was in the field next to our house and the other end was in the field on the other side of our house. I tried to take a picture but it was too big to even snap a shot. It was a wonderful reminder of God's promises to us. It was so perfect for the week we've had. It seems the economy, loss of jobs, etc. is really starting to affect our horse clients and little by little a few have decided to wait on getting their horses trained. We were starting to get concerned about the business. We have the clientele we need right now, but usually we have a very large spring waiting list. God's rainbow yesterday reminded me of Matthew 6:25-26-- Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink;or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? (Lord help us to be focused on you instead of ourselves!) I know that our Heavenly Father will provide the business Matt needs, it is in His hands and in His will and I'm thankful he reminds me of that through his amazing beauty---a rainbow.

girls, wow. I can hardly fathom it! Our family is overrun with boys!! My hubby's sis' finally had a girl, and my old friend from high school had a girl in February...but other than that...all boys!! :) I envy the girls--but then again, with boy #2 due in May--what would I do with a girl??? :)
great list--how fortunate to have Susanne as your pastor's wife!!

Nice to "meet" you and so glad you joined in this week! Your header is just adorable!

Good news about your Grandma. It is nice having grandparents and great grandparents. I only met each of mine once in my whole life, so I'm very glad my kids can know theirs!

What a fun week! I had a half and half family: two boys and two girls. Perfect balance and lots of craziness!

Great Fave Fives! Thanks for sharing with us.

Awesome, Kels! Sometimes it helps just to write about things to put them into perspective. I am and will keep praying for you and know that I love you, so much!

Well done Kelsey!
I saw that rainbow too - it was completely amazing. I was driving home from work and I had to pull over just to look at it. I've never seen a rainbow so WIDE.
